As recent Head of TikTok Africa Operations- her ability to drive aggressive platform adoption (platform education), accelerate user bases (communities) by working closely with media companies and creators, fostering a vibrant content ecosystem (content) that both entertains and educates. Her unique skill set in leveraging the creator economy offers brands the opportunity to connect with next-gen consumers, ensuring their marketing strategies are both impactful and future-proof.

Zanele Matlala is a marketing and digital expert leading YouTube strategy at Google across Africa. She empowers Google's clients to build their brand presence and connect with audiences on the platform. With extensive experience in the media industry, Zanele has held roles at MultiChoice, Ramsay Media, JacarandaFM, and Kagiso Media, among others.Her expertise is grounded in three degrees, including a Master's in Strategic Management from the University of the Witwatersrand. Her dissertation, "The Role of Brand Positioning in Growing and Sustaining SMEs in South Africa," reflects her deep understanding of brand strategy.Beyond her professional achievements, Zanele is an avid runner who has conquered numerous marathons, including the Comrades Marathon, 2 Oceans marathon and a 161km ultramarathon.
With over 20 years’ experience in broadcast and entertainment marketing, Georginah Machiridza launched the DStv Compact and Access brands and brought to life celebrated global sporting events such as the FIFA World Cup and Rugby World Cup. She led the go-to-market campaigns for Trackers and Shaka Illembe, and is driving Showmax’s ambitious, award-winning marketing campaigns to be the No.1 streaming service in Africa. She holds an MBA from University of Cape Town.
